There is a grace of God working in you, and there is also a grace of God working through you. Many believers understand the first part, but forget the second. God did not only save you for your personal growth. He also placed gifts, creativity, wisdom, and spiritual capacity inside you to bless the world around you. This is why you must become conscious of the grace of God at work through your life. You must study yourself. What has God enabled you to do naturally? What problems can you solve? What kind of impact flows through you? These things are not accidents. They are clues to your assignment.
Daniel understood this. The Bible says all four Hebrew boys were gifted, but Daniel had special understanding in visions and dreams (Daniel 1:17). Daniel knew there was a grace of God upon his life in that area. So when the king’s troubling dream placed everybody in danger, Daniel did not panic. He asked for more time because he believed he could do something about the problem through the grace of God upon him. That is powerful. Daniel was not being proud. He was simply conscious of the gift God had placed inside him. He understood that when it came to mysteries, insight, and dreams, heaven had equipped him for impact.
You too must become conscious of the grace of God at work through your life. There are things you can do through God’s help that others may struggle with naturally. Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 1:6 (ESV) “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands” Develop your gifts. Strengthen them through use and discipline. Grow in confidence concerning what God has placed inside you. Like Daniel, you should reach a point where you can boldly say, “I can help solve this problem.”
