If you own a business, you must cultivate a prayer practice. If your business is on the Lord’s side, the devil will undoubtedly come knocking. This is not a reason to panic. If you do what is required as a Christian, you have nothing to be concerned about. Anything “Christian” must be based on two pillars: the Word of God and prayer. Anyone starting a business must be prepared to spend time meditating on God’s word and praying without ceasing. Your pastor can pray for you, anoint you, and coach you. But you are the greatest prophet your business could ever have.
Too many entrepreneurs approach their business from the natural angle only. They outsource the spiritual stuff to their spiritual guides. This is not optimized. If you do not open a direct line of communication with your God over your business, you will soon fall into the schemes and manipulations of men. It is neither proper nor realistic to expect your pastor to guide you step-by-step on what to do about your business. You need a direct connection to the energy, wisdom, and grace only the Spirit can breathe upon you, and your business.
Take a moment to contrast King Saul and King David. A significant distinction between the two kings was their relationship with the divine. David had a direct relationship with God and prayed to him directly. When we first met Saul in the Bible, he was looking for a seer to help him (1 Samuel 9:1-11). The greatest kings are those who have established a direct relationship with God. As your prayer habits improve, you will find that you are attracting more grace to help your business grow. You are the number one prayer warrior your business needs.
