Get Clear On What You Want To Do

One major reason you’re finding it hard to get meaningful results is because you don’t know what you want. On Monday, you want to build an edtech startup. By Wednesday, you’re trying to publish 10 books over the next 3 years. You can not produce results when you won’t make up your mind about the exact results you want. Without a clear goal, there is nothing to work towards. It is okay to not have clear goals. You might be in a time of your life when your goals are unclear. But this is not the best situation. Your success will be limited until you can set clearer goals.

There are 2 key Bible verses to consider. Matthew 6:22 says if your eyes be single, your whole body will be full of light. A “single eye” symbolizes a life that is pure, sincere, and devoted to one purpose. If your focus is singular and clear, you will have massive results. Let’s also consider James 1:6-8. James is clear in his rebuke: if you can not make up your mind on what you want, you will be unstable. An unstable person can not receive anything from God. You must be firm and resolute.

Begin with an honest assessment of your current level in life. You have to start from where you are, not from where you wish you are. When you’re clear on where you are, and what you have, you can now prayerfully determine where you want to go. Determine a number that can best represent your desired level of success. This could refer to the number of clients, members, or revenue targets. It could refer to the number of weekly meetings or ministrations. It is about determining the impact you want to have. And what daily or weekly activities would fuel it.
