The Bible talks about the beauty of youth as strength and the beauty of old age as grey hair (Proverbs 20:29). Grey hair shows wisdom gained from experience. Experience helps us gain wisdom, but it is not as great as the wisdom we can find by seeking God. You have to bear in mind that you can only learn from an experience you survive. Some experiences can leave you broken for life. And you have to live with such scars for the rest of your life. Wisdom from experience is a very costly way to gain wisdom.
In Job 32:6-9, Elihu says he was young and scared to speak. He thought that the wisdom that came with lived experiences was excellent. And so, he did not want to speak. He later changed his mind. He explains that there is a spirit in man, and the breath from God give true understanding. This means that older people are not wiser just because they have lived many years. A young person who is spiritually alive can operate by a superior wisdom. When you operate by this wisdom, you don’t need to experience something for you to understand it.
There is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. This breath of the Almighty can fill your mind with musical lyrics and symphonies that doesn’t sound like anything on earth. Think about the centuries old compositions of G.F. Handel, and how they continue to stir the soul even today. By revelation, you can unlock the mysteries of the universe, and the wonders of quantum physics. There are no limits to the wisdom available to you when you decide to lean more on God, than your lived experiences.
