In a world that promotes the idea of everyone for themselves, God for us all. It is important for Christians to remain committed to biblical teaching. An act of love and kindness associated with Christians is to pray for one another. You have an assignment to pray for people, places, and events. It is an assignment so important that you should maintain a list of people, places, and events you’re praying about. If you want to do great things, and be a mighty force for God on the earth, you start by understanding that life is not about you.
The Bible says in John 15:13 that there is no greater love than a person being willing to sacrifice their own life for their friends. Praying for others is a form of sacrifice. It is part of your divine office and calling to serve others. Please understand that becoming the salt and light of your world means that you wish to have a positive impact on the people, places, and events in your world. Your starting point is in the prayer room. As you pray for your family, friends, and people, you begin to align with the will of God over their situation.
Prayer shapes your thoughts, intentions, and actions. When you pray over your world, you move closer towards making a difference. You learn by communing with God how to really love people, and support them. If you don’t know how to build relationships with people, start by praying for them. When you spend so much time praying for someone, you’ll connect better, and flow better when you meet them in person. If you’re serious about becoming the salt and light of your community, draw up a list of people, places, and events to pray about. Make it a duty to devote part of your prayer time for others.
