The First Step On The Road To Fruitfulness

God wants you to be fruitful (Genesis 1:28). In the Bible, fruitfulness is best understood as modern-day productivity. To be fruitful means to be productive. As we can see, there is no way to be fruitful or productive without first defining your fruit. What kind of fruit do you want to produce? It’s easy to become lost in the Spirit. Seeking spiritual experiences, encounters, and highs with no specific goal in mind. Such people are not grounded in God’s word. They want to experience spiritual highs and nothing else. You will be at a loss if you do not understand the type of results you are expected to produce.

Lack of clarity in your purpose leads to lack of clarity on the exact results you are meant to produce on the day-to-day. When you get up in the morning, and it is not clear to you the exact results you’re meant to make happen, how do you get productive? A lot of creative and spiritually gifted people fail because the exact result they’re meant to produce was never defined. There is no fruitfulness unless the fruit is defined. Everybody you consider great today must have produced a clear result in an area of life. That’s why they’re celebrated.

Are you a teacher? What subjects are you meant to teach? Who are you meant to teach it to? And how far are you going to go? If you’re a writer, what kinds of books and publications are you supposed to produce? What’s your schedule for producing them? If you’re a kingdom business builder, where are the businesses you’ve built? How many, and how big does God want those businesses to be? Gaining clarity on the results heaven wants from you will do you a lot of good. That is how your walk of faith can please the master.
