It is important to have clearly defined goals that you are trying to make happen every single day. A situation whereby you can look back at the end of the day, and see that you got things done. Your work can be checked out and we can see if you are making progress or not. If you review the story of creation in Genesis 1, you notice that each day begins with God stating the exact thing that is to be done. Then the work is done over the course of the day. In the evening, the work is checked to see if it is good.
In a similar way, your mission should be well defined that you have clear goals. There should be an exact result you are trying to produce. And a clear method you want to use to achieve it. Each day is then about you going out to do the thing. Too many people fail because they are not working in a clear niche where their day-to-day actions can yield clear results. Their work is undefined. They are brilliant, creative and gifted spiritually, but they are unable to define what exactly they are doing.
Do not be a visionary without a clear niche, clear goals, and a defined pathway towards achieving those goals. Carrying a vision can be overwhelming. Your heads are in the clouds. You’re dreaming of what the world can be. This is a good thing. Now, let your dreams kiss reality. Take a hard look at your world, and decide which aspect of it you can start with. You have to solve real-world problems and create value. You need to have a way to measure your impact. The mission must be defined enough for you to do your best work right now.
