What Will You Do When It’s Your Turn?

The Premier League ended its 8-year rainbow campaign ahead of the 2025/26 season. Millions had been invested, but many players quietly struggled because it clashed with their faith. It only took one captain, in one match, to write “I love Jesus” over the rainbow armband. That single, small act forced the conversation. In the end, all 20 club captains agreed to move away from the campaign. One person’s conviction became a turning point for many. Changing the world always starts with someone that is ready to act on their convictions.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth: we all say we love Jesus, but many of us keep quiet when we should speak. We blend in so we don’t lose friends, jobs, or opportunities. But Daniel didn’t stop praying when threatened with the lion’s den. The apostles didn’t stop preaching when they were threatened. God is not looking for people who agree with Him in private. He is looking for those who will stand publicly, even if it costs them. It is easy to hold on to your christian values in the closet. It is safe, but also sterile and useless. Queen Esther risked her life to stand up for her faith.

One day, it will be your turn. It might be at work, in school, in your family, or even online. And when that moment comes, there will be no time to rehearse. You will either stand, or you will bow. Jesus said, “Whoever is ashamed of me… the Son of Man will be ashamed of them” (Luke 9:26). If you will not stand now in small things, don’t fool yourself into thinking you will stand when the stakes are high. Brave people don’t live forever, but cowards never live for a day. The time to choose courage is today.
