Sometimes, what moves you most is not what inspires you. It’s what irritates you. What is broken in your world? What is not as it should be? What grieves your spirit, makes you restless, or weighs heavily on your heart? If you look closely, the burden you carry may be the assignment God is trying to place in your hands. Many people say they are waiting on God, but often, God is waiting on them to open their eyes and see what He is showing them. Before He sends you, He stirs you. But only if you’re paying attention.
In Nehemiah 1, Nehemiah received news that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down, and something in him snapped. He wept, fasted, and prayed. The brokenness in his world became fuel for a mission from heaven. He didn’t just say “God will do it”. He said, “Here I am.” What is the broken wall in your world? Is it the failing education system? Is it the moral collapse on social media? The frustration in the business space? The dysfunction in families? The hunger in your city? Maybe that is the cry God is using to awaken your calling.
So, what is broken in your world? And what is God birthing in your world? Don’t run away from the frustration. Sit with it. Pray through it. Let it provoke you. Let it shape your prayers, your work, your life. The birthplaces of callings are rarely comfortable. Holy anger can be holy ground. Ask the Lord sincerely today: “What is broken in my world that you want me to fix?” Then ask: “What are you birthing through me?” This is not a casual prayer. It is a life-altering one. Heaven is waiting.
