The Plan Is To Make Lots And Lots Of Money

The plan is to make money. Lots and lots of money. Not by stealing, manipulation, or empty promises, but by solving real problems for real people. Money is not the mission. Purpose is the mission. Money is simply one of the rewards that follows when value is created. Every business exists because somebody has a problem that needs solving. Every customer parts with their money because they believe what you offer will improve their life in some way. As long as you are creating value and helping people, you should expect to be rewarded for your work. There is nothing ungodly about that.

Think about the tailor who makes beautiful clothes, the mechanic who fixes vehicles, the farmer who grows food, or the woman selling hot meals by the roadside. They work hard because their work serves people. In return, people willingly pay them. Scripture says that if anyone will not work, neither should he eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10). It also says that the labourer is worthy of his wages (1 Timothy 5:18). God is not offended when productive people are rewarded for productive work. If you are genuinely helping others, why should you feel guilty about receiving the reward that comes with your service?

Start with purpose. Find a problem worth solving and commit yourself to solving it well. Then reach more people. Improve your skills. Build better systems. Create more value. The more people you serve, the greater your impact can become. And as your impact grows, your income should grow alongside it. If you are unhappy with the money you make today, do not obsess over money. Focus on becoming more useful. Focus on serving more people. Focus on creating more value. That is how mission-driven people make lots and lots of money.
