Many people are carrying blueprints from God that nobody else has seen. A book they should write. A business they should start. A school they should build. A ministry they should launch. A problem they should solve. Yet years pass and nothing happens. They are waiting for more money, more confidence, more knowledge, or a better season. But while they are waiting, time is moving. The tragedy is not that a vision is difficult. The tragedy is that a vision remains trapped inside someone for so long that it never gets a chance to bless the world. Many people do not fail. They simply never start.
George Orwell’s Animal Farm begins with Old Major, a respected old pig who sees a better future and shares his vision with the other animals. His ideas inspire a revolution, but he dies before he can help shape what comes next. Others inherit the vision and eventually twist it into something very different from what he imagined. Whether in fiction or real life, unfinished visions are vulnerable. When a mission has not been properly established, others may misunderstand it, dilute it, or take it in the wrong direction. It is not enough to receive a vision. You must also help build it.
What has God placed in your heart that is still waiting for your obedience? Stop telling yourself that one day you will begin. Start writing. Start building. Start serving. Start learning. Start leading. Your first steps may be small, but small steps taken consistently can become something that outlives you. The world does not need more people talking about what they hope to do someday. It needs people who are willing to begin today. Start now because visions require years of faithful stewardship before they become strong enough to outlive you.
