Many Christians enter the marketplace with prayer points but no value. The marketplace does not reward wishes. It rewards value. The marketplace is a place of exchange. Nobody goes to the market empty-handed expecting to come back with plenty. The trader brings goods. The farmer brings produce. The mechanic brings skill. The tailor brings craftsmanship. Everybody brings value and exchanges it for something else. This is something many Christians still struggle to understand. You cannot build a meaningful life by showing up empty-handed everywhere and only praying for miracles. Prayer matters, yes. But it is not everything.
If you think about it, you’ll see that a healthy prayer life makes you fruitful. And fruitfulness is bible-speak for productivity. So, your productivity is what makes you a person of value. It is that value that you take to the marketplace. Joseph was valuable because he could interpret dreams and manage resources wisely during crisis. Daniel stood before kings because he carried uncommon understanding. Bezalel was filled with the Spirit, not only to pray, but to build skillfully with his hands. In the same way, there should be something others find valuable that you can offer.
God expects growth, usefulness, and responsibility from you. If you want greater opportunities tomorrow, then you must become more valuable today through knowledge, skill, wisdom, and service. The problem is that many people want harvest without preparation. They want opportunities without competence. They want influence without usefulness. But in real life, people open doors for those who can solve problems, carry responsibility, and make meaningful contributions consistently over time. When God opens doors for you, what exactly will you bring into the room? What problem can you solve? What burden can you help carry? What value can you add?
