The best version of yourself is the most productive. Your most productive self is also your most creative self. When God blessed mankind in Genesis 1, he first asked that they “be fruitful.” Fruitfulness is bible-speak for productivity. It means to produce something remarkable. To be fruitful is to produce results in the real world. Even if you think of fruitfulness in a spiritual sense, you should also realise that the ultimate goal of the fruit of the spirit is fruitfulness in the real world. Before sin and death, the blessing of God is that we might be fruitful.
The best version of yourself is not just sin-free, it is the most productive. Your goal is not just to be sin-free, and be holy. Your most important goal on earth is to produce results. You should be thirsty and hungry for results. The drive for results will bring about creativity and spiritual gifting. God gives us grace, energy and resources. And as we use them according to His will, we get even more. As we grow from glory to glory. When you refuse to look down upon the single talent you currently have, and instead put it to use. The master gives you more to work with.
So, do not focus on sin, or the many problems of your life. You can never be at your best by playing a game of “sin and repentance.” You do not become excellent by focusing on the problems in your life, and how to best solve them. Problems are like weeds; they no dey finish. You want to focus on becoming fruitful. You need to spend time seeking the face of God to gain clarity on what kinds of results he wants from you. The key question is: what can you produce from your spirit? Once you understand that, you start immediately. Heaven will work with you.
