One key difference between experts and rookies is that experts try to understand the basics and fundamentals of their work. As for the rookie, they are distracted by noise and what’s the latest, shiny thing out there. You need to discipline yourself to focus on timeless principles. Settle down on something you can build in the long-term. Rather than trying every new “good idea” out there. If you’ll win and have massive success, you must place long-term vision over short-term pleasures. Don’t be tossed to and fro with every new trend on social media. Find the basics, and master them. Focus and build something.
In October 2025, MTN Nigeria became the most capitalised stock on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), reaching ₦10 trillion market capitalization. Its share price crossed the ₦500 mark. Nestlé Nigeria Plc announced a remarkable recovery on October 28, 2025, reporting a profit after tax of ₦72.5 billion for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2025, compared to a loss of ₦184.3 billion in the same period of 2024. Isaiah 8:12 (ESV) says, “Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread.” Psalms 1:1-3 teaches us that if we delight in the word of God, and have a culture of meditation, we will prosper. The biggest problem you have is not with the economy. Your problem is that you’re not paying attention to sound, timeless principles. You’re distracted by the headlines and trends. Proverbs 13:11 reminds us that wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears, but wealth from hard work grows over time. Do not despise the days of little beginning.
