Build The Most Profitable Business You Can

A lot of Christians are unwilling to accept that businesses can be purpose-driven. They disconnect profit and purpose in their mind. If something will be within the will of God, it must be nonprofit. And if it makes money, it’s just a business. This misconception is the reason why many Christians fail to build something sustainable around their calling. They genuinely want to do good, but lacking the resources to do so, the mission never kicks off. It is biblical to make money from your good works. According to Isaiah 48:17, God can teach you how to profit.

It is clear that our Lord Jesus expects us to put our talents to work, and make a profit. In the parable of the talents (Luke 19:11-27), the master gives resources to his servants and tells them to do business with what they have been given. He expected them to work with what they have, and return a profit. If making a profit was evil, there is no way Jesus would teach about profiting from talents. A Christian should be restricted by what is in the Bible, and not what they think should be in the Bible.

The best way to build a sustainable system around your creativity, spiritual gifts, or God-given mission is by building a business system around it. In Luke 10:7, Jesus taught that a laborer is deserving of his wages. God does not intend for you to labor tirelessly, and not get anything in return. You are well within your rights to refuse to monetize your mission. But that does not make the people who do so evil or unchristian. Any business activities done without compromising biblical principles of righteousness, justice, and mercy are acceptable by God. Go and build the most profitable business you can around your mission.
