You are original. You have a special way of doing things. Even if you do what everyone else does, you still do it differently. So, stop overthinking your mission. Stop looking for a clever idea. You don’t need to stress over a big idea. God calls you to faithfulness. Your faithfulness will lead to fruitfulness. You will have massive results. Looking for the spectacular and profound spiritual encounters could be stopping you from doing your best work that glorifies God. You are forgetting the fact that you are already fully loaded. God has already equipped you with everything you need to be fruitful.
Do you really need to see an angel before you can believe that the Lord is with you always? Even unto the end of the world? Why is the Word of God in Matthew 28:18-20 not enough for you to hold on to? Chasing the spectacular, while ignoring the basics is making you useless for every good work. There is so much you could be doing, and you should be doing today, right now. But you’re waiting for something. You could bless someone with your knowledge today, but no. You want to see an angel first.
Are you looking to fulfill purpose? Or are you just looking for cool stories and bragging rights? Do you want to make a difference in your world? Or you just want “encounters” you can use to intimidate gullible people around you? You are already licensed by heaven to go about doing good. The grace of God is already available to you. As you begin to do the good you know to do, God will make even more grace and resources available. Deep within your being, you already know what you need to do. Just start as right as you can, from where you are. Stop overthinking your mission.
