You can not watch the world or contribute anything meaningful to it, if you do not have peace on the inside. Nobody acting on the outside can grant you peace. No material possession, no event, nothing at all can grant you peace. Without peace within your soul, you can not operate at your very best. It is a vicious cycle. A situation where a damaged person, someone who has a troubled soul can not help but contribute to the devil’s agenda of stealing, killing, and destruction. It is what you have inside you that manifests. You can not seek and pursue peace, if none of it is in your heart.
Some people lack the ability to even identify peace. What does peace look like? What does peace feel like? To a person at peace, they can feel the peace. Not some cozy emotional feeling, but a firm assurance that all will be well. Philippians 4:7 describes it as a peace that is beyond all human understanding. This is the kind of peace you have on your inside, and you’re fired up to seek and pursue the peace of your world. A peace you know you possess within you, yet you can not explain it in any way that makes sense.
God will cause you to have this dimension of peace because you have a relationship with Christ Jesus. You will not be able to understand how you can be so peaceful in such difficult circumstances. At this point, you’re now about to understand why the great names across all of history. From Moses to David, from Peter to Paul. That peace is how they were able to do the things they did. Proverbs 4:23 teaches that the heart is the wellspring of life. The safety, welfare and prosperity you pursue for your world is fueled by what you have in your heart.
