You have to love what God loves, and hate what God hates. That’s the key to power. As it is written, “you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions”(Psalm 45:7 ESV). The anointing came upon that act of choosing to love what God wants, and hating whatever is positioned as the opposite of what God wants. It is not enough to know your mission. Your mission must also identify which things, places, and events must be hated, for success to be secured.
You must never justify what God hates according to His word. For example, God wants us to work with excellence. There should be a burning desire for excellence within you. Loving excellence and hating mediocrity means no tolerance or understanding for mediocrity. If you justify mediocrity in any shape or form, you’ll permit it to hang around you. That foothold could become a stronghold later on. Eventually, excellence becomes history, and everything decays to a state of mediocrity and corruption. Every failed mission can be traced to permitting what ought to be rejected completely.
As a mission-minded person, you have to be rigid, and stubborn with respect to the things you have come to do. It should be non-negotiable. You must operate with firm conviction and bravery. These might attract criticism from those profiting from the way things are. But as long as they are not aligned with righteousness, justice and the things of God, you know they will not last. Love what God loves, and stop allowing what God is trying to remove. This will keep your anointing pure, and without “dead flies.” You are a vehicle for the grace of God to light your world. Do not compromise that for evil.
