Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1). Nations will come to the brightness of your rising. This is due to the nature of your light and what fuels it. Your light will come from neither the sun nor the moon. The Lord will be your light (Isaiah 60:19). This is a very interesting and important promise. The sun is the ultimate source of light, and the moon reflects its light. The sun is the primary source, and the moon is the secondary source. But where does the light from the sun come from?
In Nigeria and most parts of Africa, we operate by the light of the sun and the moon. This means that the knowledge, science, frameworks, and technology we use to run our society originated elsewhere. We depend on all these expatriates and ideas from you-know-where. They are the source of the light we have come to depend upon. This is not a bad thing. But the quality of life we enjoy depends on the quality of light available. There is a reason the light of the day is preferable to the moon that illuminates the night.
The time has come for the Lord to be your light. The time has come for your creativity and spiritual gifts to illuminate your home, your community, and your nation. It is time to unleash your inventions. When the Lord is your light, it means you become an original source of ideas, insights, frameworks, science and technology. You no longer have to copy ideas from you-know-where. You become the source of creativity. And now, the whole world has to come to you. You become the primary source; the sun they have come to tap from.
