You Need To Speak The Language Of Business

Many Christians want to make impact in business or governance, but forget that righteousness alone is not a marketplace strategy. Yes, you must walk with God. Yes, you must pray and fast. But after that, you must also learn how the world works. The marketplace does not reward prayer points; it rewards value. And value is created, packaged, and exchanged through systems. Systems that are built on knowledge, data, skills, and innovation. If you’re serious about influence, you must be fluent in the language of business, creativity, and commerce. You don’t cast out demons with Excel sheets, and you don’t run a business with just a Bible verse.

Daniel and his friends were righteous, and that mattered. But that wasn’t all. In Daniel 1:4–5, they were enrolled in a three-year learning program in Babylon. During those years, they were taught “the language and literature of the Chaldeans.” Why? Because influence demands fluency. Daniel could not stand before kings without mastering the systems that governed Babylon. His spiritual depth gave him divine advantage. But it was his intellectual and professional excellence that gave him access. Many believers today want to serve at high levels, but they’ve skipped the classroom. They don’t read, they don’t study, they don’t upskill. And yet, they want to stand before kings.

So what’s the way forward? As a creative business-minded Christian, you must be excellent at what you do. You have to master the modern tools of work. That could be AI tools. That could be Python, data science or product design. Your success in business might depend on your knowledge of branding, production systems, and customer psychology. Righteousness is your foundation, but knowledge is your leverage. Pray in tongues, yes. But then, go learn what it takes to win in your field. Stop hiding behind spirituality. God gave you both spirit and mind. Use both. The marketplace does not respond to noise. It responds to value.
