The Devil Is Not The God Of Technology

There’s a dangerous idea floating around in many Christian circles: that technology is evil, and that Satan is its mastermind. It is something you hear from well-meaning Bible teachers. Something like “All these inventions and computers are satanic.” There was a time when a certain church nicknamed the television, “devil’s box.” True story. Imagine being a creative and curious child, and hearing all these things. You believe them, and bury whatever passion you have for creativity and innovation. Painting a picture that true holiness must avoid innovation. And just like that, a calling is silenced by error.

But that’s not the truth. “Every good and perfect gift comes from above” (James 1:17). Creativity is not a demonic trait. It is a divine one. The first chapter of the Bible introduces us to God as the Creator. He imagined light, systems, structures, and ecosystems. He invented time. He wrote code into the stars. On the other hand, we all know that the devil creates nothing. He only corrupts what he sees. Tech doesnt come from abroad. It comes from above to those who steward divine wisdom to solve problems and improve life. That can be you.

We must stop teaching children that science is evil and innovation is suspicious. A generation of future inventors is being spiritually paralyzed by error. Technology is a tool, and tools take the shape of the hand that wields them. The devil is not the god of this world’s systems. He is only the god of those who rebel against the true God. If God gives you a vision for a new platform, a new device, a solution, build it boldly. You are not less spiritual for being inventive. You are walking in the very image of your Creator. So rise up, builder. The kingdom needs your creativity and spiritual gifts.
