Psalm 78:72 tells us that David led with both integrity and skill. He won, not just because of his core values, but also because he had the right mindset, and he was highly skilled. Many creative business-minded Christians lose in the marketplace because while they might have the right value system, they lack the right mentality and they lack the skills for what they’re praying for. Many focus only on moral principles while neglecting the mindset and skills required for success. A strong value system is important, but it must be paired with competence.
A poor person struggles, not necessarily because of a lack of resources, but because their mind has not been trained to recognize and create value. They lack the skills. A millionaire thinks in millions, a billionaire in billions. Please understand that the way you see yourself and the world has been shaped by your upbringing, environment, and experiences. Many believers pray for business breakthroughs while holding onto limiting mindsets about success. They also lack the skill set required to produce millions from their business. Without the right mentality and skill set, even the most righteous person may remain financially stagnant despite their good character.
Romans 12:2 teaches us, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” To grow your business, you must intentionally change limiting beliefs while holding on to godly values. Mentality and skill matter just as much as faith. Praying for opportunities is not enough. Preparation is key. If you are asking God for something great, ensure you are developing the skills and mindset to handle it. God blesses those who are ready. When faith meets preparation, doors open, and success becomes sustainable. You need to have the right core values, and the necessary skills to build billion-dollar companies.
