President Donald Trump has a distinct approach to leadership: he surrounds himself with people he trusts—friends, allies, and proven winners. His team is filled with individuals who thrive on competition and push themselves to go the extra mile to achieve victory. Trump understands that winning is rarely a solo effort. It takes a group of like-minded people, focused on success, to deliver results. As Christians, we can learn from this. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 13:20, “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” The people we allow into our lives can determine our success.
Having the right team matters. We learn from the Bible that our Lord Jesus carefully selected His twelve apostles. This was not done at random but with great intention. These were people He could teach, trust, and send out to expand His mission (Mark 3:13-15). It’s a reminder that God often fulfills His purposes in our lives through partnerships and community. When you are surrounded by supportive, godly people who share your vision and values, you are positioned to win in your calling and make a greater impact in the world.
Take a moment to reflect on those closest to you. Are they moving forward in their business or career? Are they proven winners? Are they pushing you toward your God-given mission, or holding you back? Be intentional about surrounding yourself with people who uplift you and inspire you to be your best. You need to find proven winners, and build relationships with them. Find mentors, friends, and partners who love God and believe in your calling. With the right people in your corner, there is no limit to what God can do through you.
