The greatest obstacle to fulfilling your mission is not a lack of resources, support, or opportunities—it’s you. Often, we are our own biggest barrier. Self-doubt, fear, procrastination, and lack of discipline can cause us to sabotage our own progress. We may blame external circumstances, but in reality, the root of the issue lies within us. If you constantly second-guess yourself or delay action, you’re holding back what God has placed in you. Remember, if God gave you a mission, He will provide the means. Your responsibility is to stop getting in your own way and take action.
Your mission cannot progress if you continue to make excuses. Many young people fall into this trap. Common excuses include, “I don’t have the right connections,” “The economy is too tough,” or “I’ll start when things settle down.” These are just barriers you create to avoid taking action. If you want to lead a meaningful mission, you must push past these excuses and find ways to keep moving. Whether it’s taking a small step or leveraging the resources at hand, your faith in God should drive you to act, even when the situation isn’t perfect.
The truth is, God doesn’t need us to be perfect, He just needs us to be obedient. Isaiah 1:19 reminds us, “if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” On the other hand, if you keep waiting for the perfect conditions, or keep making excuses, you’ll never see the fullness of your mission unfold. If you follow divine guidance, you can never fail. Today, silence the inner voice of doubt, trust in God’s ability, and step forward. The time for excuses is over. Take action and watch God do what only He can. Your mission depends on it!
