Proverbs 10:5 reminds us that we must not sleep when there is work to be done. God has prepared a global harvest, but it requires workers who are alert and willing. Jesus pointed to this urgency in John 4:35 when He said, “Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” This is a call to action for all who follow Christ. In Matthew 9:37-38, Jesus urges His disciples to pray for more laborers because the harvest is plentiful. Now is the time to awaken and take up the work before us.
There is an urgent need for action across the nations of Western Africa. The work ahead is vast, and it’s not just about survival, but about calling people to live purpose-driven lives, beyond mere consumption and mediocrity. We must teach and inspire others to rise above ignorance, eradicating illiteracy and creating a culture of excellence. There’s a desperate need for selfless leaders who will raise the standard and help people demand more from themselves. The Lord is calling you to step into your role as a Watchman and bring this transformation to your world. The time to act is now.
Divine assignments don’t come with loud alarms or clear deadlines; the responsibility to feel the urgency and get to work falls on you. If you wait for a perfect moment or external pressure, you’ll miss the harvest. Proverbs 10:5 warns us about the disgrace of a son who sleeps during harvest time, failing to grasp the need for diligence. Don’t be like him. Declare your own sense of urgency and run with the mission God has given you. There’s no time to slack off—every delay costs more than you realize. The work is great, and the harvest is ready. Now is the time to act.
