Society often values working for established organizations over pursuing the seed of an idea within us. Many people believe success means climbing the corporate ladder at a big company, rather than nurturing a small, personal vision. In practice, the Kingdom of God within us can find expression in many ways. It’s not about starting a new company but about following the unique nudges and passions God places in our hearts. The point is that societal expectations can stifle our choices, making it difficult to focus 100% on what truly resonates within us. This pressure can cause us to ignore the still, small voice guiding our steps.
An excellent example of this can be found in the story of David and Goliath. When young David volunteered to fight Goliath, King Saul tried to discourage him, pointing out that Goliath had been a champion warrior since his youth, while David was just a shepherd boy. Saul couldn’t see that David’s moment to start his own legend was at hand. Similarly, people around us might not see the potential in our small beginnings. They may discourage us from stepping out in faith, urging us to follow safer, more conventional paths. However, like David, we must trust that the nudges within us are leading to something significant.
The key to unlocking the Kingdom of God within you is to focus less on societal expectations and more on God’s direction. Apostle Paul advises not to confer with flesh and blood (Galatians 1:16) but to seek alignment with God and trusted spiritual mentors. It’s essential to listen to God’s voice, even when it leads you down unconventional paths. Whether it means starting a business, building a career, or embarking on a unique project, you must be willing to follow through. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are living in accordance with His will, not merely the expectations of those around you.
