Pray Your Office, Not Your Doubts And Fears

There is nothing as useless as worrying and fear. These things have zero utility. Jesus said that if worrying does nothing, then why do it in the first place? (Matthew 6:25-34). The Bible teaches us to be anxious for nothing. Instead, embrace a culture of prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6). When you feel anxious or stressed at work, turn to prayer. You could pray for your colleagues, your tasks, and the success of your projects. Or, you could be worrying about them. By praying, you invite God’s peace and guidance into your office, making it a place of calm and productivity.

When you pray, do not pray about worries and fears. Pray your office! Your office represents your roles and duties in the kingdom of God. Your prayer should be “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.” Focus on praying for your spiritual office, not just the problems you see in the physical world. When God’s will is done concerning your office, the physical circumstances will change. Often, the problems and challenges you face in the physical world are distractions, keeping you from focusing on what truly matters. By praying your office, you align yourself with God’s purpose and bring about real change.

Praying your office means praying about the specifics of your role and responsibilities. For example, if your work involves students and young people, make it a habit to pray for them every day. Lift up their needs, challenges, and aspirations to God. Also, pray about the issues and problems your work aims to solve. This focused prayer is very productive. Over time, you’ll find that both you and your work environment are in a better place, spiritually and physically. By consistently praying your office, you stay aligned with God’s purpose, bringing about meaningful and lasting change.
