The spiritual is spiritual. The real world is the real world. Anything God has given you to manifest on earth must find expression within the earthly structures available. It is therefore important to understand your assignment on two levels. You must understand the spiritual dimension of your purpose and the socio-economic or physical dimension of your calling. It is not enough to fast and pray about your destiny. You also need training, wisdom, and the ability to plan. You must figure out how your spiritual mission can find practical expression within the systems of the world where God has placed you.
If God reveals that He has given you grace to become a state governor or even the president of your nation, you must still understand the structure of government in your country and identify a realistic pathway towards that office. If your nation operates a democracy, then you must study democracy diligently and understand how to navigate it wisely. At the end of the day, angels cannot elect you as president. Angels will not overthrow a government on your behalf. Your spiritual mission must find expression through the realities that exist within your nation and generation.
Throughout Scripture, God partnered with people who understood both His voice and their world. Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream, but he also designed an economic strategy that preserved an entire nation. Daniel received divine revelation, yet mastered the language, culture, and administration of Babylon. You should pray until heaven speaks. And then, study until you understand the systems God has called you to influence. Spiritual insight gives you direction; practical wisdom gives your calling a place to stand. When heaven’s vision meets earthly competence, purpose becomes visible for the world to see.
