Sometimes the problem is not effort. It is not even prayer. It is that you are simply not ready for the business you are trying to build. You are facing serious challenges, and you are confused. You don’t know what to do. The pressure is high, and nothing seems to be working. But if you look closely, you may see the real issue: you skipped a stage. You did not go through apprenticeship. In Luke 16:10, the Bible says if you are faithful in little, you will be faithful in much. Many people want “much” without first being trained in “little” under someone else.
Apprenticeship (different from mentorship), prepares you to face life. When you work under someone, you learn things you cannot learn alone. You see real problems and real solutions. You watch how decisions are made under pressure. You gain wisdom without paying the full price of mistakes. Think about Peter. Before he did great works, he walked closely with Jesus. He watched, he listened, he learned. So when his own moment came, he was not starting from zero. But many people today want results without training. So when storms come, they panic. They do not know what to do because they never served under someone going through storms.
If you have not served under someone for three to five years, and you are struggling to run your own business, you may need to step back. Yes, step back. Shut it down, and go work closely with someone else that is ahead of you. Go and serve. Go and be trained. It is better to pause and build capacity than to keep struggling without direction. There is more than enough time to do your thing after a period of service. The real danger is pride. If you skip the process, the process will humble you. Go back, learn well, and when you return, you will be stronger and ready.
