The Bible says, “If your eye is single, your whole body will be full of light” (Matthew 6:22). One of the greatest hurdles in life is the lack of clarity about the one thing you are called to pursue. Goals are not hard to achieve when focus is clear. The real problem is divided attention. Today you want one thing, tomorrow another. Your priorities keep shifting, and with every shift, your energy is diluted. Power flows where focus remains. When your vision is scattered, your efforts become weak. But when your eye is single, direction becomes clear, strength multiplies, and progress follows naturally.
For many people, this lack of focus shows up in daily decisions. On Monday, the goal is to make money. By Tuesday, they are wondering if God even wants them to make the money. On Wednesday, the business suddenly feels pointless, so they consider quitting to look for a job. By Saturday, they are unsure whether to marry their fiancé or end the relationship. This constant back-and-forth destroys momentum. Nothing compounds. Nothing matures. When priorities change every few days, effort never gathers power. This is why some people spend five years on the same project with little or no result.
Progress requires settled conviction. Learn from Hebrews 11:15-16, and stop being mindful about alternatives to your mission. You must decide what you are doing and stay with it long enough for results to appear. Light fills the life of a person who has resolved their direction. This does not mean you will never adjust, but it means you stop panicking, second-guessing, and restarting every season. Choose the mission God has placed in your hands, commit to it fully, and work it patiently. When your focus becomes single, your life becomes bright, and your results finally begin to speak.
