You Should Have No Business Been Broke

If you are prospering at your level, you should not be broke. So the hard question is, what is wrong? Scripture says there is much food in the fallow ground of the poor (Proverbs 13:23). That means provision already exists, but the land is not being worked. Being broke is often not a lack of opportunity. It is a lack of cultivation. God has already placed something in your hands. A measure. A talent. A business idea. A trade. If nothing is coming out of it, the problem is not heaven. The problem is effort. You’re not prospering at your level.

Prosperity follows working with what you have. Not what you wish you have. You cannot reap from land you refuse to work. Many people pray for breakthrough while neglecting their responsibility. They are not working their business. They are not improving their skill. They are not serving customers well. They are not learning or adjusting. Yet they are surprised by lack. The Bible is clear. Diligence produces provision. Laziness produces want. If you are constantly broke, it is time to stop spiritualizing what is clearly a work problem. Prosper at your level means extracting value from what you already have. Until you do that, lack will keep speaking loudly.

If you are stuck, do not stay proud. Seek help. Ask yourself if you skipped apprenticeship. Did you rush ahead without learning properly? If so, humility demands that you go back and learn. If you did learn and still struggle, then seek godly counsel. Do not suffer in silence. There is wisdom available. There is correction available. Poverty is not a badge of spirituality. It is often a signal that something is wrong. Fix it. Get help. Work your land. God has already provided seed. Your responsibility is to till.
