Everything About Your Village People Can Not Be Demonic

James 1:17 teaches us that all good and perfect gifts originate from God, who is consistent and unchanging. The devil is an evil and corrupting force. He does not create anything, but rather takes what already exists and makes it evil. God created you, and your family. God created your parents and grandparents. So, we can understand that there must be something good, and righteous about your ancestry. Everything about your natural family can not be bad, evil, and demonic. In the beginning, it was good, but now it might have been corrupted.

Many people live in suspicion and fear of their parents and relatives. In Nigeria, they are tagged “village people.” This word is used to refer to an undefined group of malevolent, often spiritual, forces originating from one’s ancestral hometown. They are believed to be actively working against someone’s success or progress. It is also used to refer to envious relatives and neighbors from the village who use diabolical or mystical powers (often called juju or witchcraft) to cause misfortune. While it might be true that not everyone is happy with your success. But to assume that everyone from your family and village are evil people is a form of stupidity.

When a Christian thinks like this, and labels everybody and everything demonic, how do you get the help you need to succeed? You might dismiss this, and claim you don’t need anything from your family, but that is not true. God planted you in that family and village for a reason. You could not have come from anywhere else. The wealthiest people on the planet value family. Indians maintain strong family ties, and grow together. But poor Nigerians have made their mothers witches, and their extended family are “village people.” This is the opposite of Christianity.
