It is easy to dismiss just how much work Moses did for the Lord to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt by his hand. And then the long journey back home. Moses had to organise the people into a productive nation. In the passing of time, we see that he did it well. Mission accomplished. But this came at great personal costs and sacrifices. One of the key activities of Moses was intimacy with God. Moses was the man that spoke to God face-to-face. This intimacy lit him up with powerful ideas from heaven. Intimacy with God made Moses one of the greatest human beings that ever lived.
A major problem with many mission-driven people today is lack of clarity. They might have received some divine ideas and inspiration from an encounter with God. But they are unable to build upon their encounter. They saw the burning bush, and like Moses, that got their attention. The big question is this: how do you go from the “burning bush” supernatural encounter to actually getting Pharaoh to allow you to leave? And after leaving, how do you mould the people into a productive, prosperous nation? It takes more than a supernatural encounter to identify your God-given purpose and run with it.
You should fully own your ideas and your mission. Take complete responsibility for what God has entrusted you with. You can not continue to depend on other spiritual giants or professional experts for insights, frameworks and prophetic direction. You must become a prophet over your own life, and your God-given mission. There is no way you will deliver on your mandate if you’re not doing the work. We can imitate the walk of Moses with the Lord. Moses fasted for 40 days twice, waiting upon the Lord for mercy, clarity and grace to keep going. If you want results, draw closer to God by the word of God and prayers.
