The Clarity And Energy To Win Comes From Prayers

The prayer room is a production room. It is the place where you produce results before they appear in the real world. To be productive requires two things. First, you must be clear on the exact results (products) you want to achieve. And then, you need the energy to get it done. Every great Christian receives the clarity and energy to get things done from their prayer room. If you’re serious about your mission to watch over your world and guide it towards where God wants, you need to have a prayer habit. This is where you will receive the clarity and energy for your mission.

Martin Luther, the church reformer, once declared, “I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.” This matches what the Bible says about how our Lord Jesus prayed and the other great believers. Daniel prayed three times a day, a regular custom he maintained even when a decree forbade it, leading to his being thrown into the lions’ den (Daniel 6:10-28). The psalmist in Psalms 119:164 talked about praising God seven times each day. Bible scholars say this should be seen as a continuous sense of worship and thankfulness, not just a specific number of prayers.

If God is your source of life-light. The source of energy you need to get your mission completed. You need a way to stay connected to Him all day long. In the same way we often need to keep our smartphones charged round the clock. Train yourself in the art of prayer. Understand the diverse kinds of prayers. Begin to set aside quality time to pray every week. Ten hours of prayer a week, spread across the days, is a good starting point for a mission-driven Christian that wants to change the world. The clarity and energy to win comes from the prayer room.
