Do You Know Enough to Get Started?

When God gives you a sense of mission, the first battle is often not with the devil but with your own mind. Many people fail before they even begin because they overthink everything. They want the entire plan mapped out before taking the first step. This is analysis paralysis. But faith doesn’t work that way. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” The question is simple: Do you know enough to get started? If yes, stop stalling. Begin with what you have and where you are.

The truth is, you know more than you are willing to admit. It is ignorance and even hypocrisy for a born-again Christian to say, “I don’t know my purpose.” You may not know every detail of your grand assignment, but you do know the general will of God. You ought to start from the general assignment for all believers, and then grow into your own personal mission. Every believer is called to win souls, disciple others, and reflect Christ in their world. That is the starting point. You cannot keep waiting for a special revelation while refusing to obey what is already clear.

The mission grows in motion. The more you act, the clearer your next steps will become. So, take action. Start with what is obvious and simple. Pray. Submit to discipleship. Serve the mission of your church. Let your daily life reflect your values. It’s in these small steps of obedience that your specific mission will emerge. God does not reward endless debates in your mind; He rewards faith that moves. Stop waiting for perfect clarity before you obey. The little you know today is enough to start shaping your tomorrow. Begin now, and heaven will meet you on the way.
