Your creativity and spiritual gifts are not only for “spirikoko” activities. They could have a real impact in the real economy too.
This is why we must think carefully and act deliberately. You need to become more conscious of your role as a vehicle for the grace of God to move in the world around you. You need to become more intentional about using your creativity and spiritual gifts to grow the economy of your world. A recent report revealed the largest sectors in the Nigerian economy as of Q1 2025. It is a good place to get started as you pray and think about how you want to watch the world and steer it towards a better future.
The top ten sectors in Nigeria’s economy today are real estate, trade, crop production, telecommunications, construction, crude oil, food and beverage, livestock, finance, and fashion. These accounts for over 75% of the GDP. That’s a map. It shows you where real impact can be made. It shows where the nation is bleeding, and where it is thriving. So, the question becomes: which of these areas are you called to? Where can you insert your light, your wisdom, your creativity, and your solutions? Stop praying without planning. Stop prophesying without producing. God’s call to fruitfulness includes understanding the economy you live in. What would be your contribution?
