The good news is that God doesn’t abandon His assignment, even when we do. He waits. He calls. And if we listen, He redirects. “Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to Me with all your heart…” (Joel 2:12). Maybe you’ve spent years chasing money instead of purpose. Maybe you buried the business idea God gave you under layers of fear, distractions, or other people’s expectations. But it’s not too late. You can come back. The first step is repentance, a sincere turning of the heart. Go back to God. Ask again: “Lord, what did You send me here to build?”
The second step is brutal honesty. You must stop pretending you’re fulfilling your assignment when you know you’re not. Look at your business or career and ask: “Does this look like what God told me to do?” If it doesn’t, don’t just tweak the surface. Make a full return. If God asked you to build systems, then stop spinning in circles doing random gigs. If He told you to raise leaders, then shift your time and energy towards mentorship, not just income. Recovery begins with clarity, but it continues with courage. Realignment is not cheap. But it’s worth everything.
Finally, build again, but build with wisdom. Don’t rush. Don’t seek applause. Begin to structure your life around your divine calling. Cut off the distractions. Reduce the noise. Get back into deep communion with God. Seek advisors who help you stay on mission, not those who dilute it. Create again. Write again. Lead again. Trade again. This time, not for clout, but for kingdom. You lost time, but you can recover ground. Heaven is still counting on you. Your generation still needs what you carry. Find your way back, and get to work. May God restore you fully.
