Who Taught You That?

Every idea, belief, and habit you have was learned from somewhere. The way you approach work, success, and relationships is shaped by what you’ve been taught. Both directly or indirectly. Romans 12:2 warns us not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by renewing our minds. This means questioning the influences that shape our thinking. Who taught you how to handle money? Who shaped your attitude toward business? Who influenced your work ethic? If your mindset is holding you back, it’s time to unlearn what’s not serving you and embrace the wisdom of God.

Consider Daniel in Babylon. He was surrounded by a foreign culture, yet he remained committed to God’s principles. Instead of being shaped by Babylon, he influenced it. Today, many people unknowingly absorb ideas from social media, movies, pop culture, and secular business philosophies that conflict with biblical wisdom. Some believe they must compromise their values to succeed, while others think laziness and mediocrity are acceptable. But success in God’s kingdom comes through diligence, integrity, and obedience. What you believe about work and success determines the results you see in your life.

Take a moment to reflect: Are your beliefs about mission, purpose, success, leadership, and money aligned with Scripture? If not, it’s time to reset. A lot of people are trying to succeed at a divine mission through ungodly means. Study the word of God, seek wise counsel, and surround yourself with mentors who reflect godly principles. Your mindset is either building or limiting your destiny. Let God renew your thinking so you can operate with kingdom wisdom, excelling in business, leadership, and every area of life. You don’t have to conform to the world’s ways. Let God teach you a better way.
