Do Not Be Motivated By Money Alone

When someone truly embraces a mission, they become a missionary—driven by purpose, not profit. On the other hand, when their only focus is getting paid, they act like a mercenary, motivated by money alone. As a Watchman, your role is to watch over your world with purpose and integrity. You are called to be a missionary, not a mercenary. It’s essential to work for companies or organizations whose mission you believe in. When you align with their purpose, you’ll find fulfillment and can work at your highest potential. This is the key to winning and finding true satisfaction in life.

The Bible rebukes half-hearted work in any shape or form. In Mark 12:30, we are commanded to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, which sets the standard for how we approach everything in life. This same level of passion and commitment should extend to the work we believe God has called us to. Whether it’s running a business, leading a ministry, or working for a company, we must pour our whole selves into it. Half-hearted efforts not only fall short of God’s expectation, but they also limit the fulfillment of our true potential.

To be a mission-driven, creative, business-minded Christian is to live as a true soldier of Christ. This means living each day with a clear awareness of the mission you’re championing, whether it’s in business, culture, religion, economy, or governance. A soldier doesn’t move without a purpose, and neither should you. Think deeply about the mission God has entrusted to you, meditate on it until it shapes the way you think, speak, and act. When you embody this mission, it becomes more than a task—it becomes your identity, driving your every decision and action in the world.
