Many business owners often overlook the importance of prayer, believing it to be the domain of those in ministry or religious service. However, prayer is a powerful tool for everyone, including those in the business world. Seeking divine guidance and blessings can profoundly impact your business. Recognizing the need for prayer in all aspects of life, including business, helps to anchor your operations in faith and wisdom. This understanding shifts the perspective that prayer is only for church leaders and highlights its significance for business owners and entrepreneurs alike. Unless the Lord builds a business, the people labour in vain.
One day, an employee asked to speak with the operations manager and the company president at the place he worked. He shared, “I had a dream last night, and all three of us were in it.” This employee admitted that he wasn’t very religious, but in his dream, “the three of us knelt down in the office to pray for the company. Later that day, business picked up.” The president and the operations manager shared with him that they pray daily and that they had long recognized God’s blessings upon the business, although this particular time had been the toughest experience they’d faced. The three of them prayed right there.
Not long after they prayed, business opportunities began to unfold. They received a system recharge request, a call from a company for semiannual maintenance, and another order that increased nearly tenfold. These events reminded them of Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” Prayer is not just for those in ministry; it is for everyone, including business owners. It opens doors, provides guidance, and invites divine intervention into our daily operations. As you lead your business, remember to make prayer a priority, trusting that God is with you in every step.
