You Can Be To Us Instead Of Eyes

In Numbers 10:31, Moses said to Hobab, “please do not leave us… you can be to us instead of eyes.” Moses understood something important. Even though he was leading God’s people, he still needed help. There were things he could not see on his own. So he invited someone with experience to guide them. This shows us a powerful truth. In your journey, you will need people who can see what you cannot see. You are not designed to figure everything out alone. God places certain people in your life to guide you, warn you, and give you perspective when your own view is limited.

We see this again in the story of Ruth and Naomi. Ruth was in a new land, with no clear direction. Naomi became her guide. In Ruth 3, Naomi gave her clear instructions on what to do, step by step. Ruth followed those instructions and found favor. Naomi was “eyes” for Ruth in a situation she did not understand. This is how destiny relationships work. At certain points, you need someone who understands the terrain better than you do. They help you avoid mistakes and make wise moves. Without Naomi, Ruth’s story may have turned out very differently in life.

So look carefully at the relationships in your life. Who are the people God has placed around you as “eyes”? Who brings clarity when you are confused? Who has gone ahead of you in areas where you are just starting? Do not ignore these people. Value them. Listen to them. At the same time, be humble enough to admit that you do not know everything. Your growth will depend on it. God often guides us through people. When you recognize and embrace the right relationships, your journey becomes clearer. You make better decisions and avoid unnecessary struggles along the way in life.
