Your current business should not take up all of your time. You can’t work at your current level all the time. Spending all your time creating the goods you sell, or providing services, and marketing. You need to also spend enough time to pray and think about what your next level would look like. And what it would take to get there. Stop taking all your time to worry about the many problems you face in your business. The big idea is that rather than going day-to-day from one problem to another. Spend some time working on your business purpose.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 teaches us that there is a time for everything, and a season for every purpose. You need to be more conscious of your times and seasons. You need to start thinking in terms of things that need to stop, and the new things you have to embrace as you go about your business. If you fail to do this, one day, you’ll see that the seasons of your life and business have changed. And you’re stuck in the past. Do not be too busy with your current level that you’re not positioned for the next level.
You should not spend all your time fighting fires and solving problems at this level. People who do that never grow. After 15 years in business, they have merely repeated a single year, 15 times. There is no purpose. There is no planning. And there are no meaningful pursuits. Start to use a few hours a week to pray, think, and dream about new directions to take your business. You will soon find yourself looking for resources. It is easier to get resources in the form of people, equipment, materials and money for your next level, than to solve all your problems at your current level.
