It’s not enough to be gifted. It’s not even enough to be anointed. The world is full of talented people who never rise because they never trained. The Holy Spirit gives gifts, but it is your responsibility to grow into mastery. Your creativity and spiritual gifts are not for show. They were given to build, to lead, to bless, and to transform systems. But for you to operate at that level, mastery is needed. The Spirit of God in you gains maximum expression when you cultivate excellence. So stop hiding behind the excuse of potential. This generation doesn’t need more dreamers. The world needs masters.
Daniel was not just a prophet. He was a master of the systems of Babylon. He didn’t rise in the palace because he could pray alone. He rose because he had skills. In Daniel 1:17–20, the Bible says God gave him and his friends knowledge and understanding of all literature and learning, and Daniel could understand visions and dreams. They were ten times better than all the other experts and professionals in the entire kingdom. Let that sink in. The Spirit of God made him technically proficient. He learned the language. He studied their books. And because he mastered the system, he could influence it.
You are not called to play small. You are called to be a master in your field. Whether it’s design, medicine, policy, tech, or business. Don’t settle for average. God is not glorified in laziness or mediocrity. When your spiritual gift meets refined skill, something powerful happens. The world begins to take notice, not just of your talent, but of your authority. If you want to lead with the grace God has given you, put in the work. Build deep. Study hard. Master your craft. The Spirit of God is in you, but it’s your job to become excellent.
