If you want to fulfill your God-given mission at the highest level, you must approach it from a place of love. Love for the work itself, love for the cause, and love for the people you serve. When love is at the center of your mission, you will find joy in the process, not just in the results. Challenges will not discourage you because your motivation is deeper than money, recognition, or personal gain. Love gives you the strength to keep going when things get tough and fuels the passion needed to make a lasting impact.
Many people struggle with their mission because they do not truly love the work. They see it as a burden rather than a privilege. But look at the most impactful leaders, innovators, and pastors. These servants of God all deeply loved what they were called to do. Jesus Himself carried out His mission because of love. Paul endured hardship because he loved the gospel and the people he was sent to. When you genuinely love what you do and who you serve, your work becomes more effective, fulfilling, and transformational.
Take a moment to reflect on your mission. Do you love the work, or are you just enduring it? Do you see the people you serve as a responsibility or a privilege? Jesus made a powerful statement in Luke 14:26: “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.” This doesn’t mean literal hatred but loving, and prioritizing the mission above all else. When you love your calling more than anything, you will serve with excellence, endure difficulties, and leave a lasting impact.
