There will always be moments when you feel like giving up—times when the challenges of building your business, nonprofit, or ministry seem insurmountable. As a Watchman called to lead your world towards God’s vision, you must recognize that this path is not easy. It is hard because you are running contrary to the normal course of your world. But don’t despair; instead, draw deeply from the spiritual resources available to you through your relationship with God. In Him, you will find the grace, strength, and perseverance to press on, even when the road feels impossible. Lean on His promises, and keep moving forward.
Jeremiah, in Jeremiah 12, voices his frustrations to God, questioning the apparent ease of the wicked’s success. God responds in Jeremiah 12:5, challenging Jeremiah to persevere: “If you have raced with men on foot and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses?” This reveals a truth for anyone attempting remarkable work—you will face moments of frustration and uncertainty. Apostle Paul echoes this in Galatians 3:3, warning against trying to finish in the flesh what began in the Spirit. What God has called you to birth must also be sustained and grown through His Spirit, not human effort alone.
No one has it easy. Even the most successful individuals you admire face immense challenges, obstacles, and insecurities. It would surprise you to learn about the struggles many high achievers quietly endure. Yet, they stay the course, running their race with focus and determination. This is your journey, and you must face it with courage and resilience. Fix your eyes on God, who is your source of warmth, strength, and grace. As you deepen your relationship with Him, you will find the perseverance to navigate difficulties and fulfill your calling. Depend on Him, and He will see you through.
