Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 that people will see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. This reveals a powerful principle. Your work on earth is meant to benefit people, while the glory goes to God. Your spiritual gifts, creativity, ideas, and skills are not just for personal success. They are tools to solve real problems and add value to others. When you approach your work this way, it changes your mindset. You begin to see that what you do matters. Your business, your craft, and your service become channels through which God’s goodness is expressed in practical, visible ways.
History gives us clear examples of this principle. At one point, experts warned that the world could face a serious food shortage because natural sources of nitrogen were limited. This problem pushed scientists to find a solution. Eventually, a process was developed to produce ammonia from nitrogen in the air, making large-scale fertilizer possible. This led to the widespread use of NPK fertilizers, helping farmers grow more food and sustain growing populations. One solution impacted millions of lives. This is what it looks like when human effort meets real need. Problems are solved, people are helped, and through it all, God receives glory.
Your good works must be real and practical. They should solve problems people can see and feel. Look around you. What needs fixing? What needs improving? What value can you create with your skills? That is where your assignment lies. Do your work with excellence and with the intention to serve others. When your work blesses people, it points beyond you to God. That is how you give Him glory. Do not settle for empty activity. Build something useful. Solve something meaningful. As you do, your life becomes a testimony. Glory to God in heaven, and real benefit to the people around you.
