According to 1 Corinthians 13:1-2, you are nothing without love. Your creativity, spiritual gifts and mountain moving faith will all amount to nothing if you’re not operating in love. When you operate outside of love, you are more likely to become proud, arrogant or conceited. Like inflating a balloon. When you’re operating at a level hundred times higher than anybody in your world. When you think you’re better than anybody dead or alive, how exactly would you serve with your gifts? Your creativity and spiritual gifts are easily corrupted when you use them without genuine love.
The spiritual love is best defined as to will the good of the other, as the other. It is selflessness at the highest level. It is what makes someone lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). The love and compassion that defined the life of Jesus is the key to kingdom manifestation. Selfless love means that one is able to focus on what needs to be done without counting the cost or seeking personal gains. When you focus on yourself and what you can do, you’ll end up outside any God-centered purpose and manifestation.
Love makes you focus on how to improve others, and solve problems for other people. It will help you to grow and mature into the image of Christ. You will be positioned to go about doing the good you know to do. If a teacher teaches from a place of love, they won’t hold back. No knowledge is hidden away for selfish motives. And when you do good for humanity, people notice. The lives you touch with your gifts will remain grateful. Love is the key to doing your best work that glorifies God.
