You can operate in life from different realms. Some people live and work only from the realm of their education and skills. They depend on what they studied in school or the certificates they hold. Others operate from their talents, the natural gifts they were born with. These things are good and useful, but they are not the highest realm. There is another place beyond education, skills and talent. It is the place of your calling. That is where true fulfillment lies. That is where your work has lasting impact, because it is powered by heaven. You become a vehicle for the grace of God to light the world.
Your calling is your genius zone. It is the place where your creativity, your skills, and your spiritual gifts shine and blossom the most. When you live from this place, you are not just working for money, you are building purpose. You are not just using talent, you are multiplying destiny. The Apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:14, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Paul had education, skills, and talent, but he pressed beyond them. He pursued the high calling.
Never settle for less than your calling. Do not stop at education, because knowledge alone can only take you so far. Do not stop at skills and talent, because talent without direction can be wasted. Your calling is where God’s purpose for your life meets your gifts and passions. That is where you will find the greatest joy, the deepest fulfillment, and the most impact. Press into it. Pray into it. Live in it. Everything else is temporary. But the calling of God is eternal, and it is worth giving your all.
