Transformation Is the Goal

The Christian life is not just about believing. It’s about becoming. The goal is not to remain the same person with hopeful prayers or more Bible verses. The goal is to be transformed, to become brand new. Romans 12:2 teaches us that true change happens when our minds are renewed. That means we stop thinking the old way. We embrace a new mindset shaped by truth. But this doesn’t happen overnight. Transformation is a process. It takes intention. It takes time. And above all, it takes discipline. Without consistent practice, we can’t become excellent at anything. Not even the things we’re spiritually gifted to do.

Having a Bible, a dream, or even a prophetic word is not enough. You must show up daily to train. Excellence comes when you do something long enough, honestly enough, and skillfully enough until it becomes second nature. That’s why athletes have coaches. That’s why musicians rehearse. In the same way, your transformation requires discipleship. You need someone who has already walked the road you’re on. Someone who can guide you, challenge you, and give you feedback in real time. It’s not about perfection. It’s about becoming the kind of person who no longer defaults to mediocrity but is steadily moving toward mastery.

So ask yourself: who is discipling me? Who do I allow to correct me, train me, and speak truth into my growth process? God uses people to shape people. Transformation happens faster when we submit to discipline and structure. Without this, we stay stuck. Gifted but not fruitful, inspired but ineffective. If you want to become the version of yourself that God sees, you must embrace the work of change. Transformation is not a mystery. It’s a result. It is what happens when truth, discipline, feedback, and time come together in a focused life. That’s how you maximize your creativity and spiritual gifts.
